6. A book that makes you sad
Oh my god this book is sad. Khaled Hosseini writes beautiful, moving stories, but they’re so depressing. There’s no happy ending. There’s a realistic ending for a miserable life, but he really doesn’t sugar-coat anything. It’s good, though. It’s very upsetting, but it needs to be. People do actually have to live their lives this way.

What do you think about straightedge?
I think it’s a great way to live. It’s not my way, personally, but their respect for their bodies is admirable. I prefer to live a little. Yes, alcohol and weed aren’t good for you, but I don’t have them too often. I think I’d rather die a little younger than live to an old age and have never tried anything different.

5. A book that makes you happy
This book is really fun. It’s written mostly in letters to and from the characters, which is a style that I find delightful to read. I haven’t read it in awhile, and I may have grown out of it, but maybe it’ll just bring back the fun of high school the next time I read it. I’d definitely recommend this book to teen girls.

I love my laptop
My laptop came back today! I sent it away on Tuesday! I’m so amazed. They fixed the problem, and they replaced a lot of other parts for me. Do you think any drugs should be legalized? Do you think there should be an age for drinking?
My opinion on the former is sparse: I know little about drugs, but I tend to agree with the legalization of marijuana. I don’t know much about it, though, so I don’t have an informed opinion (and I won’t claim to have one).
