“For I am to take mademoiselle to the moon, and there I shall seek a cave in one of the white valleys among the volcano-tops, and mademoiselle shall live with me there, and only me.”
“She will have nothing to eat: you will starve her,” observed Adèle.
“I shall gather manna for her morning and night: the plains and hillsides in the moon are bleached with manna, Adèle.”
“She will want to warm herself: what will she do for a fire?”
“Fire rises out of the lunar mountains: when she is cold, I’ll carry her up to a peak, and lay her down on the edge of a crater.”
”[…] And her clothes, they will wear out: how can she get new ones?”
Mr Rochester professed to be puzzle. […] “What would you do, Adèle? […] How would a white or pink cloud answer for a gown, do you think? And one could cut a pretty enough scarf out of a rainbow.”
“She is far better as she is,” concluded Adèle, after musing some time: “besides. she would get tired of living with only you in the moon.”

If someone gave me a beautiful copy of Pride and Prejudice I would take it as one of the most thoughtful, heartfelt gifts ever.
[1/15] 15 Best Confessions of Love (Books) » Severus Snape (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)
“So the boy … the boy must die?” asked Snape quite calmly. “And Voldemort himself must do it, Severus. That is essential.” Another long silence. Then Snape said, “I thought … all these years … that we were protecting him for her. For Lily.”
“We have protected him because it has been essential to teach him, to raise him, to let him try his strength,” said Dumbledore, his eyes still tight shut. “Meanwhile, the connection between them grows ever stronger, a parasitic growth: Sometimes I have thought he suspects it himself. If I know him, he will have arranged matters so that when he does set out to meet his death, it will truly mean the end of Voldemort.” Dumbledore opened his eyes. Snape looked horrified.
“You have kept him alive so that he can die at the right moment?” “Don’t be shocked, Severus. How many men and women have you watched die?” “Lately, only those whom I could not save,” said Snape. He stood up. “You have used me.” “Meaning?”
“I have spied for you and lied for you, put myself in mortal danger for you. Everything was supposed to be to keep Lily Potter’s son safe. Now you tell me you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter —”
“But this is touching, Severus,” said Dumbledore seriously. “Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?” “For HIM?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!” From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe: She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
“After all this time?” “Always,” said Snape.

The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.

I desperately and successfully powered through Game of Thrones. I’m keen to start the next one where I don’t know everything that’s going to happen. I love reading, but I don’t love trying to smush my enjoyment into a time frame. I finished with an hour left before I planned to go back to Guelph, only to have my plans turned upside down and now I’m not going back until tomorrow. I guess I’ll play Pokémon White until then.
Guess who got their hands on a copy of Game of Thrones! (It’s me.) But I have to really power through it because I’m going home on Friday and I can’t take it with me. I want to get through the second book before the next season of the show comes out. Reading the book is great, but it’s not as great as if I didn’t know everything that’s coming next. Seeing into the characters’ minds more is fantastic, though. Does the second season start in April or May?
